Bettendorf Christian Church is a non-denominational church. That means we base our beliefs and teachings on the Bible, and we are self-governed by a team of elders. This allows us to stay focused on following Jesus and being the Church that He has called us to be.

We strive to fulfill Christ’s mission to “Make disciples of all nations, baptizing them, and teaching them.”

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
— Jesus (Gospel of Matthew 28:18-20 ESV)

We obey His Great Commands to “Love God” & “Love Others” to accomplish His Great Commission.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.
— Jesus (Gospel of Luke 10:27 ESV)

We hold to 3 core values to achieve our vision & turn these into 3 core actions for all that worship at BCC:

  •  We are a Relational church, so we want to CONNECT everyone to meaningful relationships, focused on Christ.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
— Jesus (Gospel of John 13:34-35 ESV)
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
— Paul (Letter to Philippians 2:3-11 ESV)

  • We are a Disciple-Making church, so we want to GROW everyone together in God's word, prayer, and generosity.

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
— Paul (Letter to Ephesians 4:1-6 ESV)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
— Paul (Letter to Galatians 5:22-23 ESV)
...walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy...filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church … to make the word of God fully known … the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.
— Paul (Letter to Colossians 1:10-11, 24-28 ESV)

  • We are an Outward-Focused church, so we want to SERVE others together with the love of Jesus.

We are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them.
— Paul (Letter to Romans 12:5-6 ESV)
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
— Paul (Letter to Ephesians 4:11-16 ESV)

Real life-change happens when people have a relationship with Jesus. Each weekend we craft our services around presenting the truths we find in the Bible.

There is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Luke 3:22

Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died upon the cross and all who believe and obey Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures. He is now at the right hand of the Majesty on High as our Great High Priest.
Matthew 1:18-20, I Corinthians 15:1-4, Ephesians 1:20

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is a divine person, sent to reveal all truth to the apostles, to empower the believer, and convict the world of sin, of righteousness and judgment.
Luke 12:12, John 16:8

The Bible

The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, were inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for all men. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice.
II Timothy 3:16

Man was created in the image and likeness of God; he fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death.
Genesis 1:26, Romans 3:23

Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men; and those who believe, repent and are baptized into Him for forgiveness of sins are thereby born again of the water and the spirit, receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, and become the children of God.
Acts 4:12, Acts 2:38

The Church

The Church consists of all those who are added by God upon their faith and obedience. Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church, which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all nations.
Acts 2:47, Ephesians 5:23, Matthew 16:15-16

The Church Gathering

The local church is a body of believers in Christ who join together for the worship, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the Gospel, observance of the Lord’s Supper and “all things that Jesus commanded.” Each local church is to be overseen by elders appointed on the basis of qualifications set forth in God’s Word.
Acts 2:42-47, I Timothy 3:1-13
